We conduct practical Seminars at set sites annually as well as ad hoc Seminars upon request and availability. Contact Joseph Barbknecht for details. (214)346-9449 or jbarbknehct@yahoo.com.
Present participants with information regarding the status of consumer protection law as it relates to the insurance industry so that participants can understand the law as it applies to claims handling.
The licensee will acquire knowledge of the law and methods required to competently protect the interests of the insured/consumer who is involved in a lawsuit as a defendant. The casualty professional will learn and gain the knowledge necessary to understand complex casualty issues which can arise and have serious consequence for the insured/consumer, casualty professional, and the casualty professionals employer.
This course is expected to provide the participant with knowledge of changes in the law as a result of the 2003 Legislative Session (excluding the medical malpractice changes). This course is also expected to provide the participant with an understanding of the way that some of these changes could effect him/her in the insurance industry and in claims handling. Finally, this course is also expected to encourage the participant to examine the manner in which insureds and the tri partied relationship between insurer, insured and counsel (in third party cases) may be impacted by some of these changes.
